Welcome! My name is Matthew and I’m honored to hold several titles in life. A few of my favorites are husband, dad, brother, friend, real estate executive and the newest one, rural builder. Real estate and travel are passions of mine. My family and I love to travel and spend time in nature and outdoors. After living in Washington, DC for 15 years, my wife and I moved our family back to our home state of Ohio in 2020. Immediately, we began searching for our family nature retreat and realized others might want to enjoy it as well.    

We live in Columbus, Ohio but wanted a place to stretch our legs, enjoy nature and expose our three boys to the slow life. In 2021, a year after moving to Ohio, we came across 14 acres in Perry County. The site is about an hour from our home. It was at that moment, we decided to embark on a journey to build the first of what will become a portfolio of luxury cabins with all the amenities and comfort that city living offers. We are avid travelers and have collectively visited over 40 countries (and growing). However, the past couple of years taught us the importance of the drivable, weekend getaway. A getaway that provides all the relaxation, without the flight. So, we decided to build a place to call home and we are excited to share it with you! 

The concept for Drane Cabin Group was born out of necessity. We believe other families and groups of friends might also appreciate a high-end, nature adventure that offers the comforts of home, is located less than a few hours drive from several major cities and is priced affordably. The Little Red Fox, our first dwelling, was completed and we hosted our first guest in April 2022.
